Summary
Twelve-year-old Lucas Trainer, who is suffering from an illness that affects his lungs, has just moved to the middle of nowhere - a town called Hounds Hollow, where ghostly dogs prowl at night. At first, he's terrified by the nightly apparitions and people have been mysteriously disappearing. If that's not creepy enough, Lucas' new house, a giant manor that belonged to an estranged relative, is anything but ordinary. Ever since he moved in, he can't shake the feeling that someone, or someone, has been trying to get his attention. As he slowly uncovers a family secret and the mystery behind the town, he learns that a ghost dog's bark is worse than its bite and in fact the dogs are protecting the town from an even more terrifying threat
