Summary
Born with a weak heart, Megan Jacobs spent her childhood in and out of hospitals, sitting on the sidelines while her twin sister, Crystal, played all the sports, got all the guys, and had all the fun. Even a heart transplant three years ago wasn't enough to propel Megan's life forward. Now thirty-two, still works as a library aide and lives with her parents. Meanwhile, her sister is a successful architect with a handsome husband and the perfect life. When Megan's heart donor's parents give her their daughter's journal, she is drawn to this young woman's unfulfilled bucket list. And Caleb -- an old hospital friend she's just reconnected with -- is excited for Megan to finally seize the life she's been given. He, too, had a heart transplant, but unlike Megan he has taken advantage of the gift. Perhaps the biggest surprise is Crystal's decision to leave everything behind and join her sister on this trip of a lifetime. As the estranged sisters visit Incan ruins, tour a Celtic castle, and swim near the Great Barrier Reef, Megan fights the fears and resentments of a lifetime of illness and even begins to see a new, less perfect side to her sister. But it's one thing to risk running with the bulls. Can Megan risk opening her new heart to her sister -- and maybe even allow herself to fall in love and pursue her dreams?
