Summary

Enrico and Carla Rubbiani are a happy and close-knit couple, so much that they forget the twenty years of age that separate them, and they have a daughter, Maddalena, whom they both adore. Their family life in the Parioli house, made up of dinners with friends, walks, holidays in Sabaudia and concerts in Santa Cecilia, seems perfect, at least until Enrico suffers a heart attack which forces a short stay in a clinic. His return home triggers something unexpected, the boredom and repetitiveness of married life become a burden for Enrico who seeks an escape from the monotony of marriage
