Summary
For many years, people have encouraged me to write the stories told to me by my grandmother, who lived in the area now known as Kings Park, from the late 1800s to early 1900s. I want to make sure my grandmother's stories are not lost with me. It is important that future generations of Australians know the history of Wadjuk and Nyungah people to keep our culture alive. As a Wadjuk elder, it is my responsibility to ensure that future generations know the history of our people, not only my children and their children but the whole community. Our history has always been spoken, with many children removed from their families the stories have not been told. This book will ensure that my grandmother's stories will be available in the future. When Wadjuk and Nyungah people want to learn more of their culture, they will be able to read the stories my grandmother told me and understand their culture
